COLUMBUS, Ga. — The Columbus Police Department is proudly hosting a dynamic hiring event this Saturday on August 19, 2023.

The event will take place at the Public Safety Building located at 510 Tenth Street from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

With a proven track record of new leadership forging our city’s police force into one of the best in the country, your talent, ambition, and dedication to community service is in high demand!

Help our city put your skills to good use!

If you have what it takes, your future salary and benefits could include the following — which doesn’t even include the $5,000 pay raise currently in the works by Interim Chief Stoney Mathis:

The Columbus Police Department is excited to announce a dynamic hiring event scheduled for Saturday, August. 19th, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We invite motivated individuals who are ready to make a positive impact on their community to attend this event. 

The hiring event will take place at the Public Safety Building located at 510 10th Street. Event attendees will experience an accelerated hiring process by completing the following requirements: initial interview, physical fitness test, written exam, and background screening. Aspiring police officer candidates are encouraged to attend the event dressed in appropriate physical fitness attire. There will be a representative from the 911 Communications Center at the hiring event for those interested in becoming a 911 dispatcher.
