Hodgetwins Announce New Columbus Show This October After Springer Cancellation
The widely acclaimed comedy duo has announced a new show after their original performance was cancelled by the Springer Opera House in a discriminatory scandal in July.

The duo was to perform at the Springer Opera House in Columbus, Ga. during the same pre-planned tour only to have the Springer cancel their performance the night of the show. Leaked emails from a Springer employee quickly revealed the cancellation was purely political.

Columbus comedy fans will finally have their chance to see The Hodgetwins this fall as the popular comedy team has announced a new show date of October 29, 2022, right here in Columbus, Ga. The venue has yet to be announced for what are presumed to be operational security reasons.

The rescheduling comes after a widely-disliked cancellation and discriminatory scandal by the Springer Opera House this past July. As revealed through a series of correspondence from a Springer employee and public statements made by the Springer’s executive staff, the last-minute cancellation was purely political in nature.

Springer Producing Artistic Director, Paul Pierce, openly admitted the cancellation was due to the political nature of the performers’ content. His admission was made after email correspondence from a Springer employee to the comedy team’s manager was leaked, which boldly contradicted public statements made by the Springer just the day prior.

After his admission and contradictory statement, Paul Pierce then went on to delete his personal Facebook account that same night on July 11, 2022 after attempting to backpedal out of a seemingly obvious bald-faced lie.

The Muckraker will monitor announcements of The Hodgetwins’ newly-scheduled October 29th performance and will report more information as it becomes available.
